Interlibrary and Intralibrary Loans:  Books not in our collection can be borrowed from public libraries elsewhere in Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan counties and throughout the WV Library System.

Circulation:  All library materials circulate for 3 weeks and can be renewed once.  A fine of $0.10 per day will be charged for each overdue item. Fines per item will not exceed $2.00. However, if an item is very late it will show as lost and patron is responsible for paying the full price of the item. Every Friday is fine free!

Book Drop:  Books may be returned at any time in the book drop to the left of the main entrance.

Books for Sale: We have a section in the library where we offer books for sale throughout the year.  Donations are always welcome.


  • Story Time (Sept – May): Adult Participation Required

Infant: Wednesdays @ 11:00 am (ages newborn to 18 months)

Toddler: Fridays @ 10:30 am (ages 18 months to 3 yrs.)

Pre-School: Thursdays @ 10:30 am (ages 4-5 yrs.)

  • Book Club for Adults: Second Thursday of each month @ 6 pm.
  • Book Club for Youths (ages 8-12 yrs.): Check the library website or our Facebook page for dates and times.
  • Adult, Teen, and Children’s Summer Reading Programs: Dates and activities vary. Stay tuned to website and our Facebook page for details.
  • Special Programs for Adults and Children: Call, check our website or our Facebook page for information.


  • Computers for Internet access, word processing, and free WiFi access
  • Printing from computer: $0.15 per copy (black and white prints only)
  • Photocopying:  $0.15 per copy, students are allowed two free copies for school assignments
  • Faxes:  $1.00 per page, sending and receiving

Winter Weather Closing and Children’s Programing Policies

  • If the Jefferson County Schools are closed for inclement weather, the library will also be closed unless due to cold weather. Then the decision will be made by the Director.
  • If the Jefferson County  Schools have a 2 hour delay in opening times, the library will open on time and Story Time will begin as scheduled.
  • Children’s programs are also cancelled anytime the schools are closed for holiday vacations.
