Summer Reading Program is for Adults too!

The goal of the summer reading program is to encourage patrons to check out and read books this summer! You can choose the number and type of books you want to read.

When is it?

Monday June 11th – Thursday, July 26th. Sign up anytime on or after Monday June 11th.

How does it work?

Earn tickets for what you read: Record the library books you read starting June 11, 2018. Receive tickets for the books you read throughout the legnth of the program. One book equals one ticket. Bring your reading log to the library to get tickets for raffle prizes. Prizes for adult participants will be drawn at the Pot Luck on Thursday, July 26th.  You have to Read to Win!

Rock Painting For Adults

Thursday, June 21st @ 6:00 pm

We will be painting kindness rocks from 6-8 pm. These rocks will be distributed throughout the towns of Bolivar and Harpers Ferry.

This event is for adults only.

Scavenger Hunt

Saturday, July 7th through Saturday, July 28th

Pick up your scavenger hunt packets anytime on or after Saturday, July 7th @ 10 am. Scavenger hunt ends on Saturday, July 28th @ 5 pm.

Send your pictures in correct order to,, or bring them to the library by 5 pm on July 28th for your chance to win!

Archaeology Artifact Sneak Peak

Join us as we welcome Darlene Hassler, an archaeologist with the National Park Service. She will be presenting a lecture, taking questions, and providing a sneak peak at some of the found objects from digs in this area.

Book Club with Lyn Widmyer

This month we will be discussing Garden Spells by Sarah Addison with Lyn Widmyer joining us from 6:30-7 to entertain us with stories from her latest book, Chasing Pills.

 West Virginia Humanities Council Presents: History Alive! with Mark Twain

Saturday, July 21st @ 2:00 pm

Mark Twain is coming to the library on Saturday, July 21st @ 2:00 pm.

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) will be portrayed by Doug Riley of Tunnelton, WV.

Book Review Potluckpot luck

Thursday, July 26th at 6:00 pm.

Come celebrate the end of Summer Reading Program for Adults by discussing all the great reads of 2017 and enjoying a potluck dinner with door prizes! Please bring food to share and a list of recommended reads.  Drinks, silverware, plates, etc. will be provided.
